New “12@Hotchkiss” Series Continues with Pianist Hanchien Lee on Friday, October 7



CHESTERTOWN, MD—The Music Department continues its new lunchtime concert series, “12@Hotchkiss,” this Friday, Oct. 7, at noon with a free piano concert by guest artist Hanchien Lee. The 45-minute concert will take place in Hotchkiss Recital Hall in the Gibson Center for the Arts. Lee will offer a solo recital of compositions by Mozart, Chopin, Ravel and Liszt.
The pianist debuted with the Philadelphia Orchestra at age 16 and has performed throughout North America, Europe and Asia. She holds degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music, Yale University, and the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.
Her Oct. 7 program will include Mozart’s Sonata in B-flat Major, K.281; Chopin’s Scherzo in C-sharp minor, Op.39 No.3; excerpts from Ravel’s Miroirs: “Noctuelles” and “Alborada del Gracioso;” and Liszt’s Paganini Etude in G minor, “Il Tremolo.” The schedule for the remaining concerts in the 2011-12 Season follows:
